Although things do see to move much slower here, work is progressing on the new Walgreens building in Tutu, next to 1st Bank.
After almost a year of seeing “Walgreens coming soon” signs in Tutu, construction on the building has finally started. Although no definite opening date has been announced, Walgreens local attorney, Tom Bolt, says they hope to have the store open by early 2013. They are currently accepting applications on their website.
St Thomas continues to grow and to offer great opportunities for businesses, investors or people who love island living like I do! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
- Walgreens coming soon
Tropical Storm Isaac has finally passed us by. We had lots of wind and rain but no major problems and no loss of power. (YAY!!) Wednesday was hectic as everyone prepared for the hurricane watch, put outdoor furniture away and closed windows, stocked up at the stores, etc. (It reminded me of snow warnings back in the states!) Thursday there were some business and office closings, but generally life went on as usual. Many people stayed close to home keeping an eye on the weather as there were gusty winds and frequent light and heavy downpours all day. Friday was overcast most of the day with a few showers, but the sun finally peeked through the clouds in the late afternoon, reminding us that we live in paradise. Ready to head to the beach anyone??
